African Way aims to showcase African Peace Village for global organizations in the north to see as the place for young people to see as the place to go to for supporting youth development and scaling their ideas about grassroots development creating bridges between cultures, communities and institutions for working together to create a better world.

The main objective of this project is to co-create the Bafut Ecovillage model for the Global North (in Portugal) in order to host regional, national and international events and trainings, while providing the necessary facilities to successfully respond to the needs of the events organized.
In addition, we also aim to:
  • To research and propose ways of working together in partnership covering details such as partners’ engagement, funds management and effective participation from all stakeholders in the development of the Bafut Ecovillage model in Portugal;
  • To link the Peace Village to the municipality/ies where inserted to support communities’ transformation on rural and urban food programs, sustainable urban and rural planning, and maintenance and restoration of local ecosystems;
  • To design a Peace Village Youth and Climate Action Program in partnership with other national and international organizations to raise awareness of sustainable development.
