African Way _ International Summer Camp

The International Summer Camp African Way is a co-creation of the Better Word Cameroon International Summer Camp, which aims to bring together young people from different parts of the world to promote solidarity, foster cultural exchange and create a wider network for weaving between youth of the Global South and North.

The International Summer Work Camp is program that was designed by Better World Cameroon with the aim of bringing together youth from different parts of the world to promote solidarity and foster knowledge and cultural exchange. The International Summer Work Camp is an annual event and has amongst its components issues related to organic agriculture, environmental awareness, capacity building, knowledge exchange, innovation and creativity.
Under this program, Better World Cameroon has successfully organized eight summer work camps over the years, with the participation of over one hundred youth from Cameroon and other countries like Japan, France, Germany, Brazil, USA and Canada. This is an occasion for youth from around the world to share, learn, and cultivate peace and tolerance at a global level.
In addition, we also aim to:
  • To design a youth-led project together with other members of a Permaculture and/or Ecovillage Alliance where African Way can be inserted, in order to cocreate educational tools to inspire the transition of local communities towards resilience, and to share and develop best practices;
  • To encourage the youth participating in our volunteer and youth exchange programs to make part of the International Summer Camp, as a way of sharing experiences and promoting the learnings and tools that were provided with these other African Way´s projects.
